The KEYS: Kujichaqulia

Educational support for Hunters Point Family program participants is based on The KEYS: Kujichaqulia¹ Educational Youth Services. Kujichaqulia is the Kwanzaa principle of self-determination.

 

 

 

 

 

 

This strategy includes: 

•      Educational guidance, support, and tracking
•      Tutoring
•      Advocacy and support within the schools
•      Test preparation
•      Life skills workshops
•      Employment readiness and placement services

 

In most cases, thorough and successful completion of homework is rewarded with a Friday night outing such as pizza night or a trip to the movies.
