Hunters Point Family provides participants with an extensive array of enrichment activities that emphasize leadership development, community service, team building, social skills, and exposure to new concepts and experiences.
Programs are modeled on African American family values and relationships, emphasizing mutual support and interdependence as a way to overcome obstacles and transcend trauma. Each HPF program provides a different atmosphere, but offers the same quality services.
When youth enter an HPF facility, they feel safe, comfortable, and valued. By fostering respectful and supportive relationships with staff and other youth, these programs enable participants to begin developing a holistic and proactive way of thinking about their world.
