Takai Tyler center

Executive Director, Takai Tyler, is a former resident of public housing in Wyoming and has over 20 years of experience working with similar populations in foster care agencies. She holds a Bachelors Degree from Maclester College, where she majored in sociology, and a Masters in Social Work from San Francisco State University.

Prior to joining the Hunters Point Family, she was Program Director for the Marin Abused Women’s Services, and was the Intake Coordinator/Assistant Program Director at Alternative Family Services. She began her career at HPF in 1998 as a Case Manager at GIRLS 2000 and was promoted to Program Director four months later.

In 2004, she became a member of the agency’s Executive Team as Executive Director of Programs. She is a member of WEDOC, a leadership development program for women executives in underserved communities.
