Program Overview

EPA Green Careers Program

The EPA Green Careers Program is a 12-week Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training (EWDJT) initiative led by Hunters Point Family (HPF). Designed for residents of Bayview–Hunters Point, Visitacion Valley, and Potrero Hill, the program provides more than 200 hours of combined classroom instruction, hands-on field training, and career readiness preparation.

Through this comprehensive model, participants gain technical certifications, practical field experience, and wraparound supports that equip them to secure sustainable, living-wage jobs in environmental remediation, hazardous waste management, and green infrastructure. The program is rooted in HPF’s long history of serving San Francisco’s most environmentally impacted neighborhoods and directly advances environmental justice and equitable workforce development.
